Interdependence Natural Foods

Edible Notable

For owner Susanna Bean, Interdependence Natural Foods’ new home marks a fresh start and welcome change. A planned move to the old Bank of America building will situate the Sedona staple in a beautiful brick structure next to the Jack Jameson Memorial Sculpture Park.

Established in 2017, Interdependence provides carefully selected products that are wholesome, organic, and free of seed oils—like canola—and carries a wide range of options for various diets, including gluten-free, vegan, paleo, and keto.

Specialty items, such as raw milk, food-grade hydrogen peroxide, black salve, methylene blue, DMSO, MMS, DHEA, as well as award-winning products from Orinoco Chocolate and Rozendal Vinegar, are also available.

The changes Bean refers to include extended operating hours and additional house-made items such as hummus, grain-and gluten-free chicken wraps, hummus wraps, and local greens salads alongside its familiar turkey sandwiches, sunflower pâté, and tuna salad. They will also serve locally roasted FreeForm Coffee.

Area locals will immediately recognize beautiful flowers and produce from Whipstone Farm in Paulden. “I learned early on that anything more than backyard gardening was not for me, and I love getting the products of farmers and culinary artisans to the people,” Bean says. “Once you experience the vibrancy and nutrition of local food, you can’t go back to mass-produced!”

Interdependence is more than a place to buy products. “We care about our customers and enjoy getting to know people … I love helping people reclaim their inner authority in self-healing. As a culture, we have become so accustomed to doing what external authorities tell us to do that we have lost touch with our own body’s knowing,” Bean says. “I will happily help brainstorm, provide information, and tune in.”
